| Transition is a small bike company based out of Washington state that makes some of the toughest rides around. Rider owned and operated they know what they are doing, and here at Western Cycle we're proud to say most of our employee's own at least one Transition.
Any bike is available as a frame or complete build. When buying a complete build you will be able to choose what shock and fork you want, as well as build kit. We can spec any standard Transition build kit or custom build a kit from scratch. The bike will be built for your riding style from top to bottom.
Transition's line is based around a rugged design meant to take abuse. From big hits to downhill mountains these things can do it all. In stock currently we have the following bikes.
The Covert. Transition's new all mountain bike is the perfect fit for the technical trails of New England. With 5.5" of rear travel and geometry tweaked to climb as well as descend you'll be ripping your favorite trails in ways you didn't know possible. A tough ride that can take the abuse of drops and descents but climbs like a mountain goat, what more could you ask for? Expect weights to be between 29 and 36 pounds, and cost to be $2500+ for a full build.
The Bottlerocket. All around fun bike, with a low standover and stout rear end that gives 5.5" of travel this machine can handle anything you throw at it. Toss a long seatpost on it and it will climb better than expected. Build this bike up as a strict mountain ripper or a versatile machine to ride the trails and take the weekend lift access trips. Expect builds to weigh between 35 and 45 pounds, and cost $2800+ for a full build.
The Preston FR. A true all mountain machine that fits somewhere in between the Covert and bigger bikes like the Bottlerocket. Built around a 20mm fork but meant for the trails the Preston is the perfect fit for someone looking for one bike to do it all. Climb to the top with the XC crowd and descend with the DH racers.
