Surprisingly quiet

By

from Vancouver, BC, Canada

About Me

Comments:

I bought a certified reconditioned KICKR SNAP Trainer to save a few bucks. I'm impressed with the quality. Having used other bike trainers before, I'm really surprised how incredibly quiet this is. It can easily be used in a living room without disturbing anyone else. Works great with Zwift, though the high inclines don't feel as realistic as they should, even when everything is calibrated. There's no way that I could even manage a 14 degree climb in the real world after a long ride, but it can be done on the KICKR. Still, it does give pretty good tactile response. Better than the others I've owned.

Amazing Training Aid

By

from Tokyo, Japan

About Me

Comments:

I went back and forth on the Snap vs. the Kickr direct drive for about a month before deciding. Normally, I opt for the premium model but I decided that the Snap was perfect for my needs. I train about 80-100km on it per week - the rest outdoors. I bought a low-end Shimano wheel with a Vittoria training tire for about $100 - which you definitely need. Rollers eat regular tires and make a mess. I mount an Ipad up front and I regularly ride up to the radio tower on Zwift Watopia - where some of the inclines are quite steep but the Snap does an excellent job of simulating climbs. It's been a game changer and I look forward to my indoor training with the Snap!

Quiet, easy to work with, sensor drops

By

About Me

Comments:

Excited to get this trainer and use it with zwift. I quickly found the power readings were unexpectedly low and believe the sensor isn't dropping out. Even on the wahoo utility app the Bluetooth sensor reads 50-60% at best which is trouble and I believe a source of getting dropouts. I've also tried using an ant device an inch from the flywheel. If the sensor in the flywheel isn't strong enough to work with a iPhone sitting on your handlebars what is the point. I will be putting in a ticket to wahoo because I don't think this working correctly.

Go for the Kickr instead of Kickr Snap

By

from Madrid

About Me

Comments:

I bought the kickr snap to save some money compared to the Kickr. After using the Kickr Snap 4 times my rear wheel got burned because of a extremely hot roller. Apparently the only thing I did differently was to increase the resistance %. Now I have a damaged tyre that I have to replace because I use the bicycle also to ride outside. Not only that, I have to buy an additional wheel with a special training tyre, in order not to be changing the tyre all the time I train on the roller or on the roads. So +200 € I didn't expect. Also there are no clear instructions in how to tighten the roller, how to check if the spin down was correct and so on.
